The third Martin Institute sponsored delegation represented Romania at the NMUN conference. For the first time, the UI delegation met with the Permanent Mission of their assigned country. Three Romanian diplomats spent a morning with our students, carefully explainig the nuances involved in writing position papers. The diplomats expressed admiration for the work and intellect that went in to the development of our position papers.

Other highlights for the 2002 delegation included a dinner with UI alumni at the Churrascaria Plataforma, a Brazilian restauarant in the Theatre District, the speakers program, and opening and closing ceremonies held in the UN Great Hall.
